AWR

The Agency Workers Regulations 2010 (AWR) were introduced to help protect agency workers against discrimination in the workplace and tackle the issues around low-pay, holiday entitlements and working time conditions.

The Agency Workers Regulations state that, agency workers now have the right to access facilities, such as staff rooms, toilets, car parking, and transport services in the same way as their permanent counterparts and, from day one of their employment within the organisation. They must also be given the same opportunities to apply for open vacancies at their place of work.

In addition, after the 12 week qualifying period, agency workers are entitled to equal treatment in terms of their pay, holiday entitlement, working time and improved pregnancy rights, as their permanent counterparts within the same role.

If you employ temporary agency workers, you should be complying with the Agency Worker Regulations, and with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the temporary recruitment sector, we can help you do just that.
